Get the answers in writing
Confirm the manufacturer model number and ask what is included and excluded from the price. Written specifications and estimates are more useful than relying on display-home finishes or verbal descriptions.
Turn the answers into a comparison
Save the floor plan, model number, option list, and written estimate for each home you are considering. Separate features that come with the model from display upgrades and work completed at the property.

Ask to see an example
If an answer is too general, ask to see the option sheet, installation scope, or sample service process being described. You do not need to know every construction term to ask what is included. For example, follow “Does it include setup?” with “Which jobs are listed under setup on this estimate?” A concrete document makes the answer easier to compare later.
